This is one of a series of pieces (see next image) that were arranged in a circle for my recent solo show. This show brought my family together from all over the country. At the end of the show, each family member took one chair with them to remind them of this experience.
These chairs rock, not on rockers, but because of the flex in the steel. All of the steel is cold-riveted by hand.
The material is salvaged chestnut from a 19th century house in north-western Connecticut.
